Hiring lies good people miss

I’ve been hired 15 times in tech over the past 5 years.

I’ve also hired hundreds for my clients’ teams over the years.

One thing in common: both sides lie.

IN. EVERY. SIGNLE. CASE

Spot these 3 lies if you are hiring:

(so you don’t have to hire every month)

  • People don’t leave to grow,

99% of the time something was wrong with them, the team, or both (most realistic)

  • References are faked all the time,

especially if you request them from the current workplace.

  • Their results are exaggerated,

nobody did everything they mentioned in the interview.

3 lies to spot if you are job hunting:

(so you don’t have to search again before Christmas)

  • Your manager is on their best behavior during the interview,

so if he is already toxic, think twice.

  • Promotions are only real if the company is doing well financially.

No matter what they promise on the interview.

  • It’s not just about doing the job — there are hidden criteria.

Some bosses love stats, others are obsessed with teamwork and pizza parties.

Spot that in the interview.

If you need help spotting that, just DM/email me heheh.

P.S The weekend is coming, let’s enjoy it (pray for my Vietnamese visa, pls).
